The $27 million Manukau Bus Station is a local and regional bus hub which, together with the adjacent Manukau Train Station, forms an integrated bus and train interchange for Manukau, connected to nearby retail, commercial and civic areas.

The station has 23 bus bays, 21 of which are sheltered by a 12 meter cantilever roof, allowing future changes to bus types.The distinctive repeating "kite" roof surrounds a large and open central concourse with both visual and physical connectivity between Putney Way and the bus handling areas. A slim plan arrangement provides a high quality passenger experience in a building that might otherwise have a low, long and narrow space
