Auckland Zoo's new multi-purpose exhibit space offers a vast 1 km2 set of domed chambers that provide an immersive and interactive experience for visitors. It was originally designed to house the Bug Lab, a blockbuster science exhibit developed by New Zealand's world-renowned museum, Te Papa, with the Academy Award-winning Weta Workshop.

Site delivery was completed in just three months. During this time the site was cleared, unnecessary old buildings removed and exhibition space constructed. The final month before the opening was used by the Te Papa delivery team and local event installation specialists to install the Bug Lab show.
